animal-cafe.com is a free, independent directory of animal cafés across Japan. To keep it free, some of the links on this site are affiliate links. Which programs we use
We participate in affiliate programs run directly by merchants and through affiliate networks, including:
- CJ (Commission Junction / cj.com) — travel bookings and experiences from CJ advertisers.
- Awin — travel and retail partners.
- Impact (impact.com) — activities, accommodation and travel-services partners.
- Amazon Associates — relevant products (travel gear, guidebooks, pet items).
Typical affiliate links point to things a traveller planning an animal-café trip actually needs — booking a nearby hotel, a city experience or tour, a rail pass, pocket wifi or an eSIM, or a relevant product. When a link is an affiliate link, we mark the surrounding block or label it clearly (for example, "Plan your trip" or "Sponsored / affiliate").
What affiliate links do not do
Affiliate relationships never influence which cafés we list, the order we list them in, or how we describe or rate them. We do not accept payment to add a café to the directory, to rank it higher, or to write a favourable description. Our café data comes from the sources described in our Editorial Policy, independently of any commercial relationship. If we ever publish genuinely sponsored content, it is labelled "Sponsored."
Display advertising
Separately from affiliate links, the site shows display ads served through Google AdSense. Those ads are selected by Google, not by us, and are subject to Google's policies. You can manage ad personalisation via the cookie banner and our Privacy Policy.
