animal-cafe.com is run by a small independent editorial team based between Tokyo and the U.S. We're travellers and software people who got tired of finding outdated, inconsistent information about animal cafés in Japan — so we built the directory we wished we'd had.
Reviews cafe listings against multiple public sources, writes category guides, handles corrections reported by readers. Native speakers cross-check Japanese-language signage, reviews, and cafe websites.
Builds the ingest pipeline that pulls public Google Business Profile data, dedupes across keyword sweeps, and keeps the directory fresh. All data sources are documented in our Editorial Policy.
